MICHAEL D. LINTON
Michaels practice focuses on securities transactions and the acquisition, financing and development of commercial real estate. In addition to general commercial transactions, Michael has also assisted companies in hiring foreign workers on H1-B visas.
Michaels career accomplishments include the representation of hospitality REITs in the acquisition and evaluation of over $300 million in hotel and resort properties nationwide. He has worked with companies to negotiate share purchase agreements, joint ventures and structure transactions to achieve targeted tax goals.
Michael has worked with large energy companies in the negotiation of energy marketing agreements. He has also represented developers in purchasing and developing property, including acquiring subdivision and zoning approval, negotiating purchase contracts, complying with county regulations and ordinances and performing of due diligence.
In addition, Michael has represented Fortune 500 lenders in over $500 million in standard and securitized loans secured by real property, asset-backed loan transactions and unsecured lending transactions
Additional Information
Michael began his career in Richmond at LeClairRyan, P.C., before leaving to join McGuireWoods. He left McGuireWoods to start a solo practice and serve as in-house counsel to a small sell-side venture capital company until joining Gregory Kaplan, PLC in May 2008.
Michael enjoys soccer and speaks German fluently.
